Anwara 590 MW (United) Power Plant

Anwara LNG Based Power Plant was proposed by the United Group, a conglomerate of Bangladesh [1] with support from two Japanese company Kyushu Electric Power Company Incorporated and Sojitz Corporation. The Cabinet of Bangladsh approved the proposal of buying electricity from the power plant for 22 years from the day of commercial operation [2] . If the plant uses gas, the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) will have to pay about BDT 28,371.00 crore (USD 3,418.19 million) and BDT 52,362.00 crore (USD 6,308.68 million) in case of LNG usage for the lifetime [3]. There is no update available on the project after approval. The land is also found empty in Google image in January 2021.
